Catalog Description

A study of the history of books and printing, including papermaking, printing, binding, and book illustration.

 

Course Objectives

1. Examine, in a thoughtful, organized manner, an aspect of the history of books and printing in some depth.

2. Identify intrinsic qualities of the book and discuss the role of these qualities in society.

3. Extrapolate book history relevant to identified populations today to project book futures as an instrument of communication.
