Education

Southern Connecticut State University: enrolled full-time as a graduate student working toward an MLS. Plan to      obtain MLS degree 12/2010.

University of Connecticut, 08/2007-05/2009: attained B.S. in Physiology & Neurobiology at the age of 19.

Central Washington University, 06/2004-06/2007: Attended classes simultaneously with high school classes,              achieved senior standing, and was ranked first in the senior class.

Ellensburg High School, 09/2003-05/2007: Received high school diploma and graduated as class valedictorian.

 

Achievements & Certifications

Certified in tutoring through the College Reading and Learning Association.           

Invited to be one of the Silver Cortege, offered to the top six students of the Junior Class at CWU.

Earned more than twice the amount of high school credits needed to graduate (44.3/22.0), and maintained              GPA of 4.000/4.000.

 

Work Experience

Floating Library Assistant, December 2009—Present

Hartford Public Library

             I am currently working part-time as a floater in the library branches, performing tasks such as circulation, customer service, stack maintenance, and aiding patrons in the use of the computers. Through working at the branches I have also gained additional experience in answering reference question, performing reader’s advisory, and helping with children’s programs.

 

Assistant Librarian, March 2008—December 2009

East Hartford Public Library

             I worked part-time in the adult and children’s departments, performing routine library tasks, including circulation, stack maintenance, customer service, collecting money, and aiding patrons in the use of the computers. I have planned and implemented more than 40 children’s programs, including a Halloween party for more than 100 children.

 

Bookseller, Aug 2007—Present

Barnes and Noble

             I am currently working part-time performing daily duties and completing projects in the children’s department, operating the cash registers, and performing customer service, both in the children’s department and the adult department.

Student Assistant, Aug 2005—Jun 2007

Central Washington University

I supervised computer labs on campus, maintaining and repairing equipment, and aiding students and faculty in the use of the machines. I was about to be offered Head Student Assistant position beginning next quarter, but needed to relocate to Connecticut to attend the University of Connecticut.
